(above): This is one of my favorite photographs. Two bathers together in the steamy pools of the Blue Lagoon with a backdrop of the rough volcanic rock. The contrast is to me what Iceland is all about: people co-existing with a strange unique natural landscape. (below):Arriving in Iceland feels like what it must have felt like to first arrive on the moon. The 48km drive from the small airport to Reykjavik takes you through an expansive landscape of lava fields. Traversing this largely uninhabited terrain was fascinating. I kept thinking to myself: "Where am I? Where are the trees? Where are the people?"
