I didn't really know anything other than that it was going to help protect the tree. I was ready to do anything. so I volunteered.
JB: In October 1997. they [the activists] used the light of the full moon to assemble the platform because. during that time. one could not go up during the day without risking getting arrested and beat up. So. they used the light of the full moon to sneak it all up there. which is why they named the tree Luna.
