contributors Adventure photographer Kristoffer Erickson's athletic and creative pursuits have taken him around the world-from the mountains in his Montana backyard to the Karakoram Range in Pakistan. To get his shots, he often dangles from steep ice and rock faces and schusses down slopes generally considered unskiable. In 1998, Kris and Hans Saari teamed up to do a first snowboard descent of Artesonraju (19,750 feet) in the Cordillera Blanca of the Peruvian Andes (What would Jesus do ... page 44). His next adventure will take him to Tibet where his group hopes to be the first Americans to ski from the summit of an 26,246-foot peak. Kris's main goal in life is to spend more time outside than in the office and, so far, he seems to be succeeding. Hans Saari is known for his bold ski descents (What would Jesus do ... page 44). He has authored several cutting-edge premiere lines in Montana, including the Sphinxter, the Beckey Couloir and Catch-a-Fire. He recently repeated the Hossack-MacGowan in Teton National Park, thought to be one of the most difficult descents in North America. Hans climbs ice and rock year-round and currently guides for EXUM Mountain Guides in Jackson, WY. When he is not climbing, Hans is writing. He has written for Climbing, Couloir, Rock and Ice and now blue. Thomas Kelly went to Nepal in 1978 as a Peace Corps volunteer and never left.
