THE BOARDER IN A PLASTIC BUBBLE
Gotcha Glacier Japan's snowboarding-in-a-bottle experience has
already crossed the Pacific. Two hours from Big Bear. CA. the Gotcha Glacier complex is scheduled to contain North America's first indoor ski and snowboard park. The "Glacier" will feature multi�le runs. complete with halfpipes. For more self-contained fun. visitors can also play in the skating park or on an indoor ice-climbing wall. Opening in 1999. the site will be able to accommodate
over 500 boarders and skiers at a time. Other amenities? An arcade. restaurant and 2000-seat viewing room so visitors can hang back and watch the canned action.-Ben Kopke
