The intertribal trails will be constructed with a minimum of alteration to the natural terrain and will be open only to hikers, equines and llamas. The InterTribal Sinkyone Wilderness Council was formed in 1986 to protect, preserve, and restore ancestral Sinkyone Indian lands, known historically to have contained the high- est population of native peoples per acre in North America. Sinkyones' forests were sustainably managed for thousands of years by native peoples' unrivaled land stewardship. In 1997, the Council purchased the 3,900 acres, establishing America's first ever intertribal wilderness park, for the revival and maintenance of traditional cultural land uses. blue's plans include further development of this type of cause-related marketing program for advertisers. Next year's Spring 2002 issue will focus on issues of ocean and water- ways preservation, for which a percentage of advertising revenues will be contributed toward this arena. Originally scheduled for this fall, the event has been post- poned due to recent tragic events.
