through the blue water at the}ne6Bfish below, I didn't reflect on the Galapagos as a millio' when I shared the waters with marine iguanas and penguins, I wasn't thinking about the ecological isolation in which this archipelago developed. But as I dried off on the beach beside a giant tortoise, it finally struck me as odd that I had just spent my day coexisting with wild animals. In the Galapagos, the animals know no fear-of guns, of traps, of humans. The archipelago is a living example of the concept of environmental determinism.
