Last spring a group of us from Oregon and Washington were inspired to seek adventure close to home. We embarked on a low-budget snowboarding mission in the area we know best-the Pacific Northwest. After travelling all over this planet to ride, it seemed like a good idea to check out the nearby nooks and crannies. We chose to take the path less traveled and expl.ore the smaller resorts of the rea,i9n. virtually unknown small ski resorts. Some harbor the most insane secret terrain of the region, others are worthless, but each one is pleasantly funky, friendly and has its own unique style. These resorts are never more than a couple- hour drive from another so if you plan it right, you can create a road trip that hits several quality little (and not-so-little) resorts in a week. You'll be left with a crazy patchwork memory of different kickers and powder turns, and a sweet taste of the truly pacific Northwest.
