Feelin Adventurous? Adventure races aren't cheap. Besides the entrance fee, you have to cover your own airfare to the exotic locale, room and board, any medication you may need, plus most of the gear. In addi­ tion, you must be certified in the various skills of the race by either a federal sporting board or by someone appointed by the race. There are also Nature Races in Europe and Japan. Fees: Around $7,000 for a four-person team. Requirements: Certification is required for all Authentic Adventure activities. Verification of skills occurs throughout the year in the participants' home countries. This 10-day race is similar to the Raid and the Eco-Challenge.
